Woody Allen was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 1, 1935. His original birth name was Allan S. Konigsberg. At a young age, Allen became very interested in film. He rebelled against academics and excelled in athletics. Allen attended NYU and eventually failed out of the institution due to his instructors' disapproval of his comedic writing style. At the age of 21, Allen worked at the Tamiment as a writer and director and eventually became a writer for The Chevy Show on NBC in 1958.

Woody Allen married his adopted stepdaughter Soon-Yi Previn. He was accused by ex-partner Mia Farrow of sexually abusing their biological child Dylan.
